Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has been hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the San Raffaele hospital in Milan since yesterday. The news about his hospitalization has received the attention of the media, while new details have been revealed.
The Italian media write that Berlusconi has problems with breathing and for this reason he has been admitted to intensive therapy. The 86-year-old leader of Forca Italia is suspected of having a blood infection that has worsened the condition of his lungs.
Berlusconi will stay in the hospital for a few days while his partner Marta Fascina, his children and his brother Paolo and sister Licia Ronzulli are with him. Messages for a speedy recovery came from political exponents of all parties, including Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
"A sincere wish for a speedy recovery to Silvio Berlusconi, admitted to San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. Silvio Force," wrote Meloni.
Meanwhile, his brother Paolo Berlusconi said that Silvio is a rock, he will make it this time too.
The head of the centre-right Forza Italia party was admitted to the same hospital last week and left on Thursday after his condition improved.
