China retaliates against the US, increases tariffs by 125% on imported American

China has retaliated against the US for the tariffs imposed by Trump and has announced a new 125% tariff on American imports.

This value is up from the 84% that was announced on Wednesday and is the same as the current tariff that the US has imposed on imported Chinese goods.

The new tariffs will take effect from Saturday, the Chinese Ministry of Finance announced.

At the same time, the minister stated that " if the US insists on continuing to violate China's interests, then Beijing will take countermeasures and "fight to the end ."

"The imposition of extremely high US tariffs on China seriously violates international trade rules and basic economic laws," the Chinese ministry added.
