An Iranian military source has warned that any military action by the United States against Kharg Island could lead to a major escalation of the situation in the region.
According to the Tasnim News Agency, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the source stated that Iran is ready to take "unprecedented" measures if Washington continues with threats to strike this strategic oil hub.
The warning also includes the possibility of the conflict expanding to key waterways, such as the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, which are vital for global trade and energy transport.
The source stressed that an attack on Kharg Island could directly affect Iran's oil production, temporarily disrupting it, but could also trigger a backlash against energy infrastructure across the region.
