An incident occurred in the late hours of Friday in one of the halls of Westminster, where the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II is standing and where tributes are being held in her honor.

A person was attacked in the direction of the coffin, but was immediately put in handcuffs by the security forces.

"At around 10pm on Friday 16 September, officers from the Met's Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command arrested a man in Westminster Hall following a disturbance," Scotland Yard said in a response.

"We are aware of an incident at Westminster Hall in which a member of the public left the queue and walked towards the coffin," a parliament spokesman said.
