Hamas: 55 people were killed during the night in Gaza!

Hamas says 55 people were killed in airstrikes in Gaza overnight. According to the AFP news agency, more than 30 homes were destroyed after Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said airstrikes in the Gaza Strip would intensify as his troops prepared for a ground offensive.

Hagari said the strikes would help reduce risks to Israeli forces, which are massed around the border. He told Palestinian civilians in Gaza to keep moving south for their own safety, especially those living in Gaza City.

Israel has carried out the deadliest airstrikes in the occupied West Bank. The latest attack hit a mosque in Jenin, which the military described as a command center for terrorists. Israel has massed tanks and troops on the border with Gaza ahead of an expected ground invasion, although the likely timeframe for when it will take place remains unclear.

Meanwhile, the UN hopes it can deliver more aid to Gaza after vital supplies yesterday reached people for the first time since fighting broke out two weeks ago.

Please note that 2 weeks have passed since Hamas launched its attack on Israel, killing more than 1400 people. In turn, Palestinian officials say more than 4,300 have been killed in Gaza since the offensive began.
