Greece has ordered 20 of the most modern F-35As from the United States.

The greek defense minister Nikos Dendias, who also sent a thank-you letter to the US side.

"We need to see this big step along with everything else that's going on so that our country's Armed Forces can understand what we all believe in. The strongest preventive presence in our region in the history of the Greek nation," he said among other things.

The F-35A Lighting II is expected to arrive in Greece in 2028. They are produced by US giant Lockheed Martin, and the value of one of them could go up to $109 million.
