Explosion at Yellowstone

The explosion at a thermal pool in Yellowstone National Park in the US has caused panic among many visitors.

The explosion suddenly occurred at the Biscuit Basin, while a group of visitors was nearby. The shocking footage has been captured on camera when thermal water rises several feet high into the air, also throwing numerous stones.

Visitors, including children, are seen speeding away, and fortunately no one is reported to have been injured.

After the explosion, the destroyed wooden platform is seen. Geologists said the explosion may have come due to a blockage in natural underground pipes connecting thermal pools to geysers and other geothermal phenomena.

Yellowstone is a dormant supervolcant that if it were to explode, it would cause an unprecedented destruction in the United States. According to estimates, about 90,000 people could die from the treason, while the U.S. would be covered by a black cloud that would trigger a kind of apocalyptic winter.

Geologists, however, say the latest eruption is unlikely to be related to seismic activity.
