The Greek authorities have declared a state of emergency in Isil of Rhodes, after 9 days of fierce battles, which have caused great destruction on many levels.

Specifically, six municipal units of Rhodes have been declared in a state of emergency by the decision of the Minister of Civil Defense, Vassilis Papageorgiou.

It is about the Municipal Units of Rodos, Kallithea, Ialyssos, Petalouda, Afantou and Archangelos, with a decision made yesterday.

Last week, with the fire, the municipalities of Attavyro, Kamiro and Lindos were declared in a state of emergency, and last Sunday the Municipality of South Rhodes.

Firefighter operations continue without interruption and their work will be focused on the area of ​​the villages of Malona, ​​Vati and the area of ​​Gennad. The winds died down in the morning, but the gusts are ongoing.

Meanwhile, photos from above the island have been posted on social networks showing how the fire "consumed" everything.

Regarding Corfu, during the last few hours there have been numerous explosions with fire fronts located in the northeastern part of the island.

Yesterday during the day, due to the change in the direction of the wind, several gusts have been created that direct the front towards the northern part of the island.
