Warned the apocalyptic earthquake in Turkey, Prof. Dr. Naci Görür:
Prof. Dr. Naci Görür

Prof. Dr. Naci Görür, a member of the Academy of Earth Sciences in Turkey, has spoken about the recent tremors in the Adana area, which have revived panic among Turkish citizens, who are still not over the panic caused by the devastating earthquakes of February.

But, he has made a scary warning regarding what is expected, which, according to him, is most likely expected to affect Istanbul. Görür says that, after yesterday's earthquake in Adana, the region still remains sensitive, so more small earthquakes are expected.

However, according to Görür, the worst is expected in Istanbul, where he does not rule out that in the near future, a strong 7.2-7.6 magnitude earthquake will hit the Turkish capital, due to the rupture of the northern branch of the North Anatolia .

"The energy released by the earthquakes of February 6 was transferred to the unbroken edges and all this unexploded energy is expected to be released somewhere and sometime and yesterday's earthquake was only a part of it. The earthquake is coming to Istanbul, this is not a joke.

I always say that we must be alert and prepared for any situation. Maximum mobilization is needed to avoid another catastrophe as much as possible.

In the studies done, starting with the earthquakes of 1999, it was said that the probability of another devastating earthquake occurring within 30 years was 62 percent, that is, when 23, 24 years had passed.

Because every year, on the northern branch of this North Anatolian fault, there is an increase in stress corresponding to a movement of two and a half centimeters.

Also, since Turkey is located in an area with high stress and seismological activity, then the possibility of another fatal shock is much closer than we think," says Prof. Dr. Naci Görür, member of the Academy of Earth Sciences in Turkey
