Greece's Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis won the majority of votes in Sunday's election, but has refused to form a coalition government .
After the meeting with the President of the country, Katerina Sakellaropoulou , who mandated him to negotiate for three days to form the government, Mitsotakis said that the conditions are not there, asking to speed up the procedures to go to the elections again on June 25.
He said that he will return the answer to the president in the afternoon and will not wait for the three-day deadline.
With the return of the mandate, this will go to the second party, SYRIZA , and if Alexis Tsipras fails to form a government, as is likely, then to the third party, PASOK .
If no party manages to form a coalition, Sakellaropoulou will appoint an interim government to take the country to a new vote about a month later.
