Jack Douglas Teixeira, a member of the National Guard, is the main suspect of the US authorities in the leak of classified documents of the Pentagon, the 21-year-old spent a good part of his time in an online group, where he talked and posted mainly about videos games, Gods, guns, memes - and top secret US documents

The online platform this young man allegedly posted the documents to is called Thug Shaker Central, on Discord, a social media platform popular among online video game enthusiasts, where he was known as nickname "OG".

Already, accusations of espionage weigh on Teixeira. The 21-year-old, according to the BBC, graduated from high school in 2020 in his hometown of Northern Dighton, Massachusetts. A year ago, he joined the Massachusetts Air National Guard, which is a reserve of the US Air Force, joining the 102nd Intelligence Wing.

Teixeira was promoted last July to Airman 1st Class, a relatively new position, and was stationed at Otis Air National Guard Base on Cape Cod.

According to the service, his official title is master of Cyber ​​Transportation Systems.

The Air Force's official website notes that personnel assigned to Cyber ​​Transportation Systems jobs are responsible for the operation of the Air Force's global communications network.

His family is said to have been mainly involved in military service. His stepfather retired after 34 years of service, according to the Washington Post. His last post was, master sergeant of the 21-year-old unit, the 102nd intelligence unit.

His mother previously worked at veterans-focused nonprofits as well as the Massachusetts Department of Veterans Services, according to public records obtained by LinkedIn, cited by US media.

She posted family photos every year for Veterans Day. Other photos on social media reportedly show Teixeira with the family's two dogs.

He was reportedly known as the leader of a chatroom established in 2020. Thug Shaker Central included approximately 20 to 30 members, mostly young people, from various countries.

A member of the group told the media that Jack was a charismatic young man who liked guns. Other members told US media that Teixeira was bigger than most of the group and seemed eager to impress them.
One told the New York Times: “He was the myth. And he was the legend. Everyone respected this guy."
