The former spokesperson of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), Jakup Krasniqi, is in poor health.

Krasniqi, who is being tried in The Hague, did not feel well during the session in which the first witness of the Office of the Specialized Prosecutor (ZPS) is being interviewed.

His lawyer, Venkateswari Alagendra, has warned the jury that he may need to leave the courtroom.

"Krasniqi is not feeling very well at the moment, I think he can stay a little longer, but he will tell us if he needs to leave and if we are allowed to leave," said Krasniqi's lawyer.

Meanwhile, the first witness of the ZPS is being interviewed and the session is being held closed to the public. This is the third day of her testimony in private session.

While at the beginning of the session, Rexhep Selim's lawyer, Geoffrey Roberts, requested that a criminal complaint be registered as evidence, which according to him was discussed in yesterday's session.

This was not contested by the prosecution and the trial panel accepted it as evidence. Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi are physically participating in the courtroom where the judicial process against them is taking place.

After more than two years in detention, the trial against the former leaders of the KLA began on April 3 with the opening statements of the parties. Former KLA leaders are accused of war crimes: illegal arrest and detention, cruel treatment, torture and illegal killing.

Meanwhile, the crimes against humanity that they are accused of having committed are: persecution, imprisonment, other inhumane acts, torture, illegal killing and forced disappearance of persons. The crimes are suspected to have been committed from March 1998 to September 1999, in several locations in Kosovo, but also in Kukës and Cahan, Albania.
