"Washington Post": The person who published the secret documents of

The person behind the massive leak of classified US military documents worked at a military base and posted sensitive national security secrets, the Washington Post reports.

The article provides the first details on who may be behind the security breach that has rocked Washington.

The person, described in the article as a lonely young man and gun enthusiast, was part of a chatroom with about a few people on Discord, where he shared his love of guns and military gear.
The Washington Post reported, citing an interview with the man's friend, who was also part of the group.

The man, who goes by the initials "OG," began posting messages in the chatroom last year that referred to military jargon, The Post reported. In the months that followed, he posted messages in which he appeared to transcribe classified information from U.S. documents, according to the article.

"They were, he recalled, what appeared to be almost verbatim transcriptions of classified intelligence documents that the OG indicated he had brought home from his job at a 'military base,' which the member refused to identified," the Post reported, referring to messages posted by the anonymous user.

“The OG claimed that he spent at least part of his day inside a secure facility that prohibited cell phones and other electronic devices that could be used to document classified information placed on government computer networks or to extract from the printers,” according to the American paper.

"He is a smart person. He knew what he was doing when he posted these documents, of course. These were not accidental leaks of any kind,” the member said.

The Washington Post reports that the article is based on confessions made by a member of the Discord group, who is said to be under 18 years old.

The Washington Post also reports that it reviewed about 300 photos of classified documents, most of which have not been made public.

Some of the documents are said to have been written by OG, an audio recording of a man the two group members identified as OG talking to his friends as well as chat recordings and photos showing OG communicating with them on Discord.
