The bodies of a father and his 17-year-old son were found inside a house in the village of Oltra a Lamon, in the province of Belluno in Italy.

At the moment, the hypothesis being investigated is that of a murder-suicide. The victims are of Balkan origin, Italian media report, without giving further details.

Initial investigations revealed that the man, 50, allegedly killed his 17-year-old son, a student, and then committed suicide. The boy's mother also lived with them, but was not home at the time of the tragedy.

Investigations have begun to uncover the cause of the serious incident.

The alarm was reportedly raised by some neighbors around 5 p.m. after hearing the sound of gunshots. The family, according to what was learned, is part of a small, quiet community that has never caused any disturbances.
