A serious crime shocked public opinion in Greece on New Year's Eve, where a 29-year-old woman threw her 11-month-old baby into the dam of a reservoir in the North. She is accused of intentionally killing her baby. Until now, the young woman continues to deny the crime.

Recently, the Greek media have published a video with the last moments of the 29-year-old mother holding the baby in her arms in the center of North, before drowning her in the river. Video recorded by a security camera shows the young woman, who has the baby in her arms, about to walk down Thermopylon Street in the center of North on New Year's Eve, around 2:40 p.m.

The information says that the 29-year-old mother took her child and left by taxi from her home in Stavros Imathia around 14:15, bound for the North. The distance to reach there is about 15 to 20 minutes.

The taxi driver left her on "Thermopylon" street, while the 29-year-old woman then went to another taxi point, boarded another vehicle and was found at the dam of the Aliakmonas river, where the tragic event took place.


According to the medical-legal expertise performed on the baby's body, it turned out that the little girl died from drowning in the frozen water, while the medical doctor's conclusion was included in the file filed against the mother.

The 29-year-old mother of the baby is said to have been hospitalized at least 10 times in the past, in psychiatric clinics, having previously been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

The baby was born out of wedlock and the father claims that even though he tried to identify it, this was not possible due to the reaction of the mother's family as well as his own.
