The US aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman collided with a large merchant ship Wednesday night near Port Said, Egypt, in the Mediterranean Sea.

American media are not reporting any injuries or flooding on board the carrier.

The Navy said in a statement that the ship's nuclear plants were not affected and are said to be in "a safe and stable condition."
