France is shocked! A person throws a grenade into a crowded bar

A grenade has been thrown into a crowded bar in the southeastern French city of Grenoble, injuring 12 people, with two others in critical condition.

Six people are reported to have been seriously injured, including two who are in critical condition. Three of the injured required emergency surgery.

The Guardian reports that an attacker carrying a Kalashnikov-type firearm entered the bar and threw the grenade before fleeing without saying a word. 

Prosecutor François Touret de Courcy described the attack as an act of extreme violence. He added that investigators had not yet discovered a motive for the incident.

Meanwhile, he said that the police are investigating whether the attack was the result of a gang feud. The city where the incident occurred and its suburbs have been the scene of a series of incidents related to drug trafficking.
