30 rockets from Lebanon to Israel, Hezbollah claims responsibility for the attack

The Israeli Air Force "struck a Hezbollah launcher" in southern Lebanon from which "about 30 rockets" were fired overnight and crossed the border, "most of which were intercepted." This was announced by the Israeli army (IDF) on Telegram.

Other terrorist infrastructure was hit in the Marjaayoun area, also in southern Lebanon, and artillery shells were fired to "remove threats" in the Odaisseh area.

Hezbollah announced overnight that it had fired "dozens" of rockets at Israel, explaining that the Katyusha rockets were fired at Israel in response to Israeli attacks on Kfar Kela and Deir Syria in Lebanon, which injured civilians.

The United States and Israel expect an attack from Iran on Monday, Axios reports, citing sources.

"The warplanes of the Israeli Air Force attacked the terrorist targets of Hezbollah in the Kfar Kila area of ??southern Lebanon, including the terrorist infrastructure and military buildings," the spokesman of the Israeli Armed Forces had previously announced, adding that during the night an Air Force plane eliminated a Hezbollah terrorist in the Syrian Deir area". Additionally, the IDF "attacked terrorist infrastructures in the Al Adeisa area with artillery."

The US embassy in Beirut has asked its citizens to leave Lebanon "by any means possible", reports the diplomatic headquarters, amid a growing atmosphere of tension between allies Iran and Israel. Israel's Channel 13 reported that Israeli authorities have asked residents of the Upper Galilee to stay in shelters following an updated assessment of the situation by Israel's armed forces, while rocket warning sirens are sounding in northern Israel.

The Israeli military also claimed to have killed the Hamas military commander of Tulkarem in the West Bank in an airstrike in a targeted killing that hit a vehicle killing four other people. This has been reported by the Israeli media. The main victim has been identified as Sheikh Haitham Balidi, the Tulkarem commander of the Izzadin al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas. The Palestinian Wafa news agency reported a vehicle hit by an air strike in Tulkarem with five dead, without however revealing its identity.

Meanwhile, dozens of arrests, at least over 20, have been made in Iran in search of accomplices and possible targets in the assassination of the political leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, in a protected residence in the heart of Tehran, writes the New York Times, also reported by Israeli media, citing Iranian sources familiar with the facts and close to the ongoing investigation. Among the people arrested, the NYT writes, are Tehran intelligence officials, high-ranking soldiers and staff members of the residence where the explosion took place managed by the Revolutionary Guards.
