Kosovo has convened the Security Council this morning, after the kidnapping of three Kosovar police officers Rifat Zeka, Beqir Sefa and Mustafa Shemi, by the Serbian police. Prime Minister Albin Kurti has considered this act as a revenge by Serbia for the arrest two days ago of Millun Millenkovic, a person with criminal records.
Asked by journalists during the conference after the meeting of the Security Council, Kurti stated categorically that an exchange of three Kosovar police officers with the Serbian criminal Millun Millenkovic cannot happen.
He said such a thing is not at all in the plans of tj. Kurti stated that the arrest of Millenkovic caused panic among other criminals who did not think that something like this could happen.
"The three policemen who were kidnapped by the Serbian military unit were on an illegal road where smuggling was prohibited. There were specialized units of Serbia in front of them. On the other hand, we have a Serbian criminal who did not become a criminal only in the protests in the north, but has a thick file of criminal acts committed in Kosovo. Here there is rule of law, a democratic republic. The arrest of Millenkovic has caused all the criminals to panic. They could not believe that his arrest was happening. That's why they reacted in that way. We do not bargain. I don't know that Belgrade has asked for any kind of exchange. They may even ask for something like that, but you don't need to present this as a possibility because you are citizens of our republic. What exchange are you talking about?” - said Kurti.
