The Vlora Regional Cadastre Directorate now has a new director, after successive problems in the past, where frequent changes in leadership have brought stagnation to the institution. Some former directors have been charged, others under investigation, while with the appointment of the new director, the aim is to switch from lawyers to practical people, engineers.
Sources from the State Cadastre Agency told Vox News that the director of the Vlora Cadastre Agency, Albion Koçi, has left, and Andi Muhametaj has been appointed in his place. The latter has been a director at the Central Cadastre Agency, in the directorate of stimulated areas, while the assessments for "correct work" have led to the promotion, to a very delicate position such as the Vlora Cadastre.
It seems that the reason for this move comes after new scandals with properties in the Vlora region, numerous overlaps and the failure to find a solution. If until yesterday the legal directors acted by registering every piece of paper, the new director or his staff will aim to ensure that these pieces of paper do not overlap, by making measurements on the ground and giving everyone what they deserve.
Currently, the central ASHK has sent teams from Tirana to take measurements in the coastal area, going door to door, while the data obtained will then be put on maps. This will be the goal of Director Muhametaj, who is one of the best engineers in ASHK, to leave no room for interpretations or misinterpretations.
So far, the previous directors have acted in the worst way, where influences or interest groups have smeared them to register every square centimeter, even twice. Sandy areas have become private, the coast of the sea, river or stream has an owner. Now, director Muhametaj aims to re-measure every property with problems.
