Since 2004, when the first concession of Rinas Airport was approved, those who enjoyed its daisy profits have been numerous, from German to Chinese and already to Castrati.
The contract copied at the time by the "Nano" government gave the concessionaire some favours, among them the franchise of flights to Albania.
However, the Germans of Hochtief did not take everything with them. They invested in expanding the terminal, runway and even rehabilitating the road from the Kashar Neck to the Airport.
The road was made with two full lanes and at the time this investment was carried out, about 17 years ago it was among the segments with the highest standards. Of course, the money spent on this investment the German company has taken back multiple of the fat concession it held for years.
But it was their credit that the airport and the road connecting it to the capital took on a more European view. Now what happens? The Albanian concessionaire, therefore Castrati, with an increased influx of flights, which means increasing profits for him, not only does not put his hand on the road, but forces all the state apparatus to experiment with the road by converting it into a lane and sometimes pay ing citizens' money to build a new road.
To this end, the Albanian Road Authority has opened a tender worth 33.3 million leks and envisions the rehabilitation of the former military ward's route to Rinas airport. The road is 6.7 kilometers long.
At a distance of about 1280 meters before going to the surrounding area of Rinas, near the military ward, an exit ramp is thought to be built which will connect the road segment over the Kashar crossing – Rinas Airport with the existing military ward road – the airport parking lot. The construction of this alternative route, written in tender documents, will ease however little heavy traffic, the consequences of which are reflected more in rinas' circumcision.
So, the Kastrati Chiefs who bought the airport concession from the Chinese for a figure of about 70ml euros and since the Government's decision to abolish the border crossing tariff will benefit over the years of the concession millions more euros, forces ARRSh to invest for the way of its business.
Currently, Rinas Airport makes profits of about 90 billion euros per year, or about 75 ml euros in profits that are destined to increase along with the increase in the number of travellers, because the contract allows the revision of service tariffs only increased, not at a decrease.
