Incident at Kuçova Air Base, soldier injures himself with service weapon:

A soldier at the Kuçova Air Base has shot himself with his service weapon.

The incident occurred around 4:30-5:00 PM this afternoon (November 3).

Sources near the Berat hospital and the Air Base inform A2CNN that the soldier with the initials OD self-inflicted a bullet to the chest, near the heart.

After receiving the notification, the soldier headed to the Berat Regional Hospital, where medical staff injected him with dopamine, A2 reports.

The condition appears serious, but also in a state of emotional shock, and the case for transportation to Tirana is being considered.

The soldier was on guard duty when the incident occurred and had not been part of the Armed Forces for long.
