New details have emerged regarding the threat against a businessman in Peshkopi, an incident for which 21-year-old Engjëll Karoshi was arrested.

The young man admitted in his testimony to investigators that he was the author of the threat, while stating that he did everything in the form of pressure to get money from the businessman, with whom he was acquainted.

According to his testimony, Karoshi knew the businessman as he was friends with his son. The 21-year-old is suspected of placing the box, which was alleged to contain explosives, in a corner of the gas station after he had gone there on foot.

After placing the box, the young man took off the clothes he was wearing and threw them in a trash can, then returned to the gas station. He stood there as a spectator, watching the police intervene and the remote-controlled explosion of the suspicious box.

Initially, Karoshi and several other people who were near the scene were taken to the police station for questioning. Investigators then began verifying security camera footage in the area.

After reviewing dozens of cameras, police were able to reconstruct the perpetrator's movements and identify the 21-year-old as the person who had placed the threatening box.

Meanwhile, in the letter left with the box, the author had requested an amount of 50 thousand euros and had also specified the address where the money should be transferred in Bitcoin.

The box was opened and neutralized by specialists from the RENEA department, while verifications showed that there were no explosives inside. Investigations into the incident continue under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office.
