Three new applications for the construction of photovoltaic plants have been submitted to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy with a total installed capacity of 135 MW .

These are projects that are not subject to concession and therefore do not benefit from support measures, which means that their energy will be sold on the free market as independent producers.

But what are these projects and their specifics on a case-by-case basis according to the application?

The first project is that of a photovoltaic plant with an installed capacity of 50MW as an application of the company " PARK SOL ENERG Y" sh.pk located in Cadastral Zone 8642, Saranda Administrative Unit, Saranda Municipality, Vlora District.

The Park Sol Energy company was established in September 2022 and is owned by two businessmen. They are Paqsor Buzi and Agim Xhindoli, who each own 50 percent of the shares.

Paqsor Buzi is a powerful businessman in the construction field, who has benefited from tens of millions of euros from public contracts through his company GPG.

Agim Xhindoli also owns several companies in various fields, but his fame grew even more when he was interviewed by Edi Rama on the prime minister's podcast.

The second project  is for a photovoltaic plant with an installed capacity of 60 MW as an application of the company “ HD SOLAR ” sh.pk. located in the Administrative Unit of Libohova Center , Libohova Municipality, Gjirokastër District.

"HD SOLAR" sh.pk is owned by the father of the famous Albanian singer, Dua Lipa.

Dukagjin Lipa has opened, together with Sunny Hill administrator Hysen Ruka from Kukës, with equal shares, a company which he has registered in Tirana.

The company DH SOLAR PARK SHPK has as its object the construction of solar panels and the sale of energy.

Interest in investing in large-scale photovoltaic projects remains high, with businesses from various sectors increasingly diversifying into energy.

Despite the interest that peaked during the 2021-2022 energy crisis, only a small portion of these projects has been finalized and entered production, while the rest still remain in the documentation or implementation stages.
