Invited to "Top Story", former prosecutor Eugen Beci spoke about two companies linked to the arms industry, AAT and TIMAK Defence, which are the focus of SPAK's investigations.
Beci said that the investigation is not related to the 140 million euros spent on cartridges and clothing, but to the activity of two of the companies that he described as "daughters" of KAYO.
He emphasized that the main problem is related to AAT, which was created with the main purpose of producing military weapons, while from verifications of official data, according to Beci, it results in being licensed for trade, storage and transport of military weapons, without having a license or real production capacities.
"There is a discrepancy between the production facility and the actual trading license ," Beci declared, adding that this discrepancy, combined with wiretaps submitted to the Special Prosecution Office, has raised suspicions of arms trafficking.
Beci also referred to a wiretap where there is talk of sending weapons to Ukraine. He said that in a communication the Ukrainian tells Ron: "We will take some weapons and take them to Ukraine ", while Ronny replies that he will go to Sudan along with the ambulances.
According to Beci, investigators are verifying a suspected scheme in which the weapons may have come from Sudan, received the AL logo in Albania, and then been sent to Ukraine.
"I go to Sudan, the weapons come," said Beci, adding that the Special Prosecution Office is verifying whether the documentation and licenses could have been used for arms trafficking.
Also in focus is TIMAK Defence, for which Beci said that this company was created at a time when KAYO had received 10.5 million euros and that the prosecution is verifying the company's activity and location.
"Where is this company located? Is it located in an environment previously seized by the Special Prosecution Office? ", Beci asked.
In conclusion, he said that all these elements create, in his opinion, a reasonable suspicion of arms trafficking or abuse of office.
