She uses colors a lot, as that's the only way she can convey her inner world.

She wants everything around her to have light, otherwise she wouldn't feel good.

Anila Hetoja is a painter and has a strong relationship with aesthetics.

She was born in Shkodra and lives in Tirana. In 2006, her family emigrated to Canada, where Anila did not let go of her paints, on the contrary, her relationship with them strengthened even more.

Economics was her first faculty in Tirana, and then, upon moving to Canada, she chose to continue her studies at "RCC Yorkville" University, where she graduated with high results in the "Interior Design" profile.

A few years ago, she returned to her homeland to engage here in both painting and the field of interior design.

Anila has been painting for more than 30 years and has been applying "workingwithcups" for about 10 years, which is a new and unique technique in Albania.

Today we bring you a conversation with Anila, who we can also call "the girl of colors".

-Anila, when was your first contact with colors?

At a very young age, even now that I remember it, it seems like I can smell the scent of paints. I fell in love with colors and I continue to be today.

-Do you seem to use more strong colors?

Yes, I am and I use them a lot in my work, but not in the field of Interior Design (interior decoration) because strong colors create a cold environment. When I design an interior, I aim to create a relaxing (Peaceful) environment.

-What was your first painting and when was it?

A meadow with sunflowers, I wanted to depict that feeling on canvas and have it stay there forever. I was a lively child, spending most of my time in cultural activities, in the pioneer house. I remember running happily among the green meadows full of sunflowers.

-What inspires you the most when you pick up the paints, is there a situation that inspires you?

I am inspired by nature, I am very connected to it. I adore all seasons, I am most inspired by them in spring, for me spring is rebirth.

-Anila, tell us a little about the technique you use to paint, your brush is a plastic cup, right?

I have been applying the glass technique for 5 years, I have studied the technique of using watercolors and I think that artistically I am on the right track, as I think that with this technique I have reached where I need to be.

-Is this technique difficult?

Yes, it is very difficult, it takes time, patience, and a lot of work to get where you want to be.

– Do you have similar ones in the world that work in this way?

I think so, but very few apply this technique, because it requires a lot of patience and a lot of experience.

– Do you hide reality through colors, or do you really see the world in so many colors?

I don't like to see the world in black and white, I like to convey joy and love to art lovers through the canvas, and this atmosphere is best created by colors, which I cannot do without.

-Meanwhile, you studied in Canada for "Interior Design", tell us a little more, why did you go to Canada and why this branch?

We settled in Canada with my family. Since Albania, I thought that as soon as I arrived in Canada, I would start an art school. I didn't just want painting because I had a special technique in technical drawing. I wanted something more. I wanted to design chairs and different furniture. My eyes got tired when I saw a design in every family. The beige color still makes me sad when I remember it.

I discovered my passion for design in the Interior Design department. There I found myself, it's a beautiful department, but very difficult and requires a lot of commitment.

I had a very difficult time because I came from a different economic branch (I studied economics because I thought it would be easier for the job market) and most of the students had graduated in their countries with design.

I can say that only thanks to talent and great desire have I managed to complete my studies with high results and with a profession that is in high demand on that continent.

-Do you think of this as a profession that gives you the opportunity to work?

I practice it as a profession, but very little, because it is still not very well known in Albania.

-What are your works in this field, where are you more focused, on apartments or spaces larger than that?

Mostly in apartments, restaurants, bars, pharmacies, but I would like to deal more with institutions, such as schools, kindergartens, cultural facilities, television studios, park design in public spaces. I would like to bring a new spirit to the spaces that surround us. I really want this place to become even more beautiful for us, for our children.

-Do you have an element that identifies you in the field of Interior, if so, what is it?

Light! Natural lighting is my strong point, I like to create (dramatic) light reflections from outside to inside.

-What are the colors of this period in decoration?

Blue, white, red to orange.

-Are you currently living in Tirana...?

I currently live in Tirana. I am working on my new project "Nature" where I will have works with sunrise, sunset, children smiling on the lawns, there will be a lot of life, a lot of love.
