Draft law for the State Police/ Over 55 years old will receive a special salary,

Employees of the State Police who have 30 years of service will be able to end their career at the age of 55 against a new financial reward scheme. This is foreseen in the new law on the State Police which is in the process of public consultation.

Referring to the draft law, police officers who meet these criteria will be able to benefit from special financial treatment for the remaining period, until reaching the age for the full old-age pension. Likewise, the financial treatment scheme does not affect the right to dual employment, which means that in addition to the benefit of the special financial treatment, during this period they can simultaneously work in other jobs.

This scheme, according to the draft law, will guarantee a refresh of the police force.

"The police employee benefits from special service treatment, when he has completed 30 years of service only in the structures of the State Police and has reached the age of 55. The police employee, at the moment he benefits from special service treatment, receives an immediate reward in the amount of 6 (six) salaries, according to the gross salary of the last month. The measure of the special treatment of the service is 70% of the net salary of the last month and for each year of service over 30 years the measure of the treatment increases by 1% of the salary, but it should not exceed 80% of it" is provided in the new initiative legal.

Likewise, the new law on the State Police proposes a more favorable system for the financial treatment of police officers, where the components of this treatment are salary by rank, allowances for specific functions and nature of work, allowances for each year of seniority, where seniority is based not only on a reference salary for all levels, but on the salary for the lowest grade of the relevant role, enabling a graduated financial treatment.

Another aspect of the proposed financial treatment is the immediate reward in the amount of 6 (six) salaries when the police officer receives special service treatment or retires. Provision of soft interest housing loan for police officers, special health insurance and compensation in case of injury and ill health of police officers are another important aspect of treatment of police officers.

The current law on the State Police was approved 10 years ago.
