Flour wholesalers control the market like a cartel by fixing prices and not following competition rules. For this reason, the 4 big companies must pay together a fine worth about 100 thousand dollars.

From September 2021 to August 2022, the companies Agroblend, Atlas Mills, Miell Tirana and Bloja are found to have broken the rules.

The decision to penalize these companies comes from the Competition Authority, which a year ago tolerated them for the unjustified increase in the price of bread and flour in the market, under the condition that they do not make concerted agreements and periodically report the costs for flour .
