Albania's exports to Kosovo have suffered another drastic drop during the month of September. According to official data from the Institute of Statistics, our country has exported 40% less goods with the state of Kosovo compared to September of last year. The other countries in the region with which Albania has had the biggest decrease in exports are Italy and Greece. Specifically, exports with Italy recorded a decrease of 22% and those with Greece almost 8%.
Even the products we received from the region were less, especially with North Macedonia and Italy. Accordingly, imports with North Macedonia fell by 29% and those with Italy by 9%. However, the products imported from the Greek state have been the ones that have recorded the biggest increase with 16%.
What were the few products that we exported and imported from the region?
From the latest data, it appears that construction materials and metals were the products that we exported the most to Kosovo, followed by food, beverages and tobacco. While with Italy we mainly exported textiles and shoes. Also, the goods we sent to Greece were mostly clothes and other textile products.
On the other hand, the goods we received from Italy were mainly machinery, equipment and spare parts in September of this year, while we imported food, drinks and tobacco from Greece.
