The euro has continued to lose points against the national currency. According to the official exchange rate of the Bank of Albania, one euro was exchanged for 96.91 lek over the weekend.
The weakening of the European currency has continued even though the tourist season has officially ended, with the July-August period marking the highest number of tourists.
The euro strengthened slightly in the last days of August and early September, before continuing its decline. On the other hand, foreign exchange inflows are being affected by the revival of remittances and high values ??of foreign investments. Emigrants brought in 532 million euros in the period January-June.
The weakening of the euro during 2025 has been more moderate compared to previous years. The euro recorded its highest level for the year on January 30, when it was exchanged for around 100 lekë.
