The increase in foreign tourist flows continues to drive increased business demand for seasonal employment during the tourist season.

Only in the Durrës and Vlora districts, where a large number of accommodation structures or resorts are concentrated, for the month of August, according to tax administration data, around 7,292 seasonal workers were employed, or 67% more than the number of employees in December.

According to Taxes, the number of employees according to the payroll of December 2024 for taxpayers who carry out activities in the tourism sector, in the Durrës district is 7,466 employees and in the Vlora district 3,404 employees or a total of 10,870 employees in tourism.

While the number of employees according to the August 2024 payroll for taxpayers who carry out activities in the tourism sector in the Durrës district is 10,871 employees and in the Vlora district 7,291 employees or a total of 18,162 employees.

Meanwhile, according to official data, 19,115 taxpayers operating in the seasonal tourism sector have been identified throughout the territory of Albania, mainly in the months of June-September.

In addition to businesses' demand for employees during the tourist season months, a factor that has influenced the increase in seasonal employment is the high salaries offered, especially by restaurants and bars.

During the 2025 tourist season, according to employment agency data, the epicenter of the offer with the highest salaries for seasonal employment was Dhërmi.

Businesses were looking for workers for various positions with salaries ranging from 120,000 lek to 250,000 lek per month.

The highest-paid position was for chef and sushi chef, with a maximum salary of 220,000 to 250,000 lek per month.

The lowest paid compared to other positions in Dhërmi is the head of the hall with a monthly salary of 120 thousand to 150 thousand lek.

There were also high-paying job offers this year from businesses in Vlora, Qeparo, Saranda, Ksamil and those in the Kavajës Rock area, with salaries reaching up to 2,000 euros for the position of a pizzeria in Qeparo and Vlora and a hotel manager in Kavajës Rock with a salary of up to 200 thousand lekë per month. /Monitor.al
