Today at 09:00, the Conference of Speakers will be held to decide on the request of the Democratic Party group for a motion with debate regarding the former head of SHISH, Vlora Hyseni.
In the request filed with the Assembly, the DP requests that the institutional responsibilities for the appointment, exercise of the duty, supervision and removal of Hysen from the management of the State Intelligence Service be reviewed, as well as the measures taken to protect classified information.
The document mentions information made public regarding the claim that, while in office, Hyseni assisted citizen Ergys Agasi, who is under investigation by the Special Prosecution Office for several criminal offenses, by providing classified data and information.
The DP requests that the Assembly review the procedures and criteria followed for the selection and appointment of Hysen, the responsibilities of the institutions involved in this process, as well as the mechanisms of control, supervision and accountability during the exercise of the duty.
Another point of the request relates to verifications to determine whether and to what extent classified information has been compromised, as well as the measures taken to guarantee information security and protect SHISH personnel.
The request also requests a review of the institutional and political responsibility of the Prime Minister and relevant state structures in the process of selecting, appointing, supervising and dismissing the director of SHISH.
The DP argues that the issue is important for exercising parliamentary control over national security institutions and demands transparency and accountability for how the verification and oversight mechanisms have functioned.
At the end of the request, the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group requests that the Conference of Speakers determine the date for the debate on the motion in plenary session, emphasizing that the parliamentary review must respect the independence of the judicial bodies, the presumption of innocence and the rules for the protection of classified information.
