Members of the Independent Appeals Commission (IAC), who for years decided the fate of the justice system we have today, have approached the High Judicial Council (HJC) to be appointed as appellate judges.
An irony that needs no comment, but still deserves attention.
Members of the KPA, known as the "executioners" of the justice system, built their careers by "evaluating" others. Now they seek to be in the chair of those who judged.
A kind of transition from referee to player, without changing jerseys, but keeping the whistle in their pocket. Now they blow this whistle according to their personal interests, which they find in some tired lines of laws...
But who reads the lines and subtexts of the annex to the Constitution?! While those who removed it from the system refused to read and implement the same constitution!!!
Meanwhile, a small detail that should not be forgotten: they are not magistrates.
They have not gone through the filters and training from the Magistrates' School. But it seems that this is not an obstacle, when they see themselves as the "crown prince" of the system.
Crown princes, yes!!!
The law, any fair law in the world, can guarantee them a job after their mandate, but it cannot automatically grant them either the merit or the moral authority to deliver justice.
So they are offered a job, but not necessarily the job they want!
Because it's one thing to judge judges, and it's another to judge people. The first can be done with reports, files, and double standards. The vetting "princes" often do it without evidence and on hearsay.
The second requires something more: proven fairness, real integrity, and respect for due process. These elements are sorely lacking in our vetting "princes."
I repeat, for years they blew up the standards of proof and replaced them with perceptions, rumors, and conjecture.
So today a simple question arises: how can those who never believed in the rules of trial be judges of citizens?
I insist, you are only appointed as a judge if you prove that you know how to judge fairly, with process and evidence, not with rumors.
The princes and kings of vetting have proven that they do not know how to judge fairly!
I have nothing personal against any of them, but the decisions they have made have been devastating to the law, due process, and the justice system.
This is their CV.
