I think that we Albanians have not finished our mental, spiritual and even political formation as a finally mature nation.
Despite our gigantic traditions in culture and civilization. Despite the fact that, as I think, the first Albanian state is in the 15th century with Gjergj Kastrioti, founded in Lezhë, and not in the 20th century.
But our spiritual connection as a mature nation could not finish its maturation process.
We were half way there, unfortunately.
From this we suffer extremely today. Many events and processes that superficially affect politicians who are dismissed as ideologues, half-hearted ideologues who are dismissed as opinion-makers, opinion-makers who are actually propagandists, etc., are not explained in a superficial way.
The fact that the maturing process of our national spiritual bond is not finished, left in the middle, is the essence of all our new tragedies, of the dangers that face us and the possible undoing if we fail to call to mind!
Where are you going, Albanian?
This interruption of our national spiritual and political formation has come from many circumstances that need to be studied deeply, not to have answers with screams and shouts like from soldiers in the reserve!
Gjergj Kastriot had his national formation project that he had in mind interrupted because he could not have it in the sword, since the Ottoman sword was certainly stronger. His project came quickly, like mimosa in winter, so Anatolian rain and snow dried it. Other European nations at that time were still asleep.
For five hundred years, the mimosa, as Sami Frashëri would say, was hidden in the snow.
Rilindasi thought very well to wake him up, especially when they saw that Istanbul was taking us with them. But they were also very influenced by Istanbul.
All they had to do was tell us that we are one because we speak the same language. They gathered us around a material thing, but not a spiritual thing.
They created the nation in their literature and ideology, but it remained a virtual, intellectual nation, in books, because the idea cannot take hold and take root in the minds of people, (especially once illiterate) so quickly. It took other nations several centuries of freedom to do so. History did not give us the chance.
After the wars of the 20th century, came the class war, which as a mechanism is to divide the nation, not to form it.
Enver's authoritarianism created the idea with both propaganda and politics that we were formed as a nation of steel. But the illusory unity was created by the barbed wire fence of the border, not our common spiritual bond as a nation. The barbed wire created the inspiration that as soon as it fell, the Albanian would run away from the nest - the nation that had become his prison.
The process was left halfway when everything opened, borders, mind, globalist ideological winds and we were blown away.
The global wind blew us from corner to corner.
Because we were not yet conceived with each other spiritually to be a nation that does not let the individual get away from the centripetal force.
We are centrifugal and not centripetal!
The glue thrown to join us, attached, to each other, had not dried well and the connection came off.
We quarrel with our mother and father with each other, we lock ourselves in provincial regionalisms, as Noli pointed out to us so cynically, but realistically.
With the Kosovar Albanians, there is a boredom and resentment that only the devil knows who brings it into play.
Problems make us like the birds of the nation? No! Halle has had Bosniaks, Serbs, Croats, Germans, French, Italians, Greeks, but it has not been mutilated like this, it has stayed, even when it left, it has returned on many occasions.
The students come out of school and he asks them: Who was Petro Nini Luarasi? He looks at you with surprised eyes. Who is Gjergj Fishta? He remembers that he is talking about some movie actor in Hollywood of Albanian origin.
We have to understand this, otherwise we will only hear songs with a national accent in stadiums, as songs of mixed fans, where they shouldn't be, while our players are playing on the field, but we don't know how many passports they have!
