The individual with the gas mask in front of the crazy water cannon on the boulevard!

Scenes from the opposition protest

(Albanian techno-apocalyptic vision in the 21st century)

It is another story to judge whether it is a good and useful political tactic on the part of the democratic party to organize a meeting of its most ardent followers on the boulevard of Tirana. With the counter-intuitive slogan: Peaceful uprising!

Both insurgent and pacifist?

Especially since they end with a completely useless volley of water cannons poured on the heads and bodies of oppositionists, as well as with disturbing materials wasted completely pointlessly and without benefit. From a water cannon that seems to be doing combat practice, but tragically on real situations and real human bodies. I don't know what the meaning of the meetings of the most ardent militants is where no one gives speeches anymore except for a theatrical voice that says disconnected inciting phrases in the form of slogans, and in a pathetic tone.

Does this expand the party's influence among citizens? Does it increase their credibility? Is this really a peaceful uprising that dismantles the current government, while it has no realistic proposals for Albanians?

These are questions that await answers, but I'm talking about something else, namely what happened in the last peaceful uprising on May 8th.

Following closely, I noticed two surprising situations that, if not the consequences of the political anger of the leaders of both parties who were measuring their physical and muscular strength on the boulevard, make you think about the rationality and usefulness of political actions.

At one point in the event, under the rotting Tirana rain, the slogan was raised: "Now go to the Ministry of Interior!"

"Criiiimiiiit Police"!

I asked myself: Why towards the Ministry of the Interior! Why this objective that actually meant walking towards, down, the boulevard, from Saint Teresa's Square towards Skanderbeg? What was the political meaning? Except the fact that then as a consequence, along with the swirl of training water over real bodies of demonstrators, those people gathered on the side also leave?

In fact, I used to say to myself that sometimes when I have to go to the center of Tirana, which is ugly, very rarely, once every two years, I don't go down the boulevard, but sometimes from the small Lana bridge that goes behind the "Taivani" commercial complex, or other times from the Pyramid, behind it, there in front of the "Komiteti" bar.

Taiwan? Why should we fall for China?

Why this political objective towards the Ministry of Interior when you are in front of the Prime Minister's Office? Why not towards the Presidency, the Constitutional Court, towards the Polytechnic University, or towards the Albanian Radio and Television building? Where is the difference between them here?

Of course, this led to a spectacular fight on the boulevard, under the hail of water spray that was thrown mercilessly and in vain by a car that was spinning two rotating lights above its head as if they were the nervous flashes of someone deranged lying on the boulevard. A battle between the senseless throwing of water and the courageous, but also senseless, behavior of some deputies with immunity who, after clashing with the police, did not get a single thorn in their foot. Others go to the police station.

What is this useless shower on the boulevard, where in addition to the streams of rain that God throws at us from above, vertically, we also get the streams of Power, water that power throws at us horizontally, plunging and drowning us both in a square of water with no exit?

That's what I was thinking! How do we get out of here? What kind of rescue team will get us out of this tyrannical Hormuz?

And then I said to myself: What is the matter with the police that is in vain preventing the protesters from marching on the boulevard? Why are they punishing them with water and harmful substances while they have not done anything illegal? Why all these water swirls on the red and black squared tent that protects the leader of the democratic opposition both from the hail of water from above, poured by God, and from the police rain, now horizontal, thrown by the crazy car with flashing lights inside its head in the rain?

Why do they wet the constitution with water like wrapping paper under a spring rain, the desert, which was crumbling right there, torn, made like a paper that after someone has wrapped bread, has curled it, throws the wrapping paper, brown, like a maroon, on the boulevard, leaving it to rot in the rain?

I have an explanation, but I need more space to give it. However, sociologically I know "game theory" well. Game theory. There are no irrational actions in society. Social actors always do reasonable actions that seem unreasonable to others. The actions that I see up close on the boulevard seem unreasonable to me. For themselves, the two or three Democratic deputies who argue with the police, wanting in the most quixotic way to turn them against their bosses in the middle of the rain on the boulevard, the policemen who fence with each other and push the deputies, the crazy machine that has lightning flashes in its brain and measures its strength to throw it hard, high, streams of water, on human bodies, under the camera, in a giant spectacle, someone holding the red and black squared tent, everyone there certainly does reasonable actions.

I mean, they take deliberate actions.

Pamje e tmerrshme apokaliptike.

And even further away, the crazy car on the boulevard flashes me lights: Are there really 98 percent of Albanians who want integration? I never doubt the polls, not only are they idiotic, they are also indisputable. I just ask: What if the 2 percent that remain are the ones who decide?

Meanwhile, the crazy water cannon urinates on the boulevard with flashing lights on its head!

It's unclear whether she's angry or laughing!
