Cracking down on criminal businesses is one of SPAK's best works and one of the most positive developments in justice reform to date.

This is much more important than arresting ministers or mayors for corruption.

Especially in Elbasan, but not only, there is a very high level of criminalization of business and the economy as a whole. Somewhere with grace and somewhere else without grace.

A crazy situation had been created there, where the state budget, i.e. citizens' tax money, directly fed, empowered, and legalized criminal groups through tenders.

Practically, the largest businesses in Elbasan, which were the largest beneficiaries of public funds at the local level, but at the same time also major government contractors at the central level, according to SPAK files, are implicated in crime.

Separating business from crime is critical for a country. But this is a campaign that needs to be deepened throughout Albania.

Business must be saved from crime.
