I was watching the news a few days ago on an American TV from Atlanta, Georgia and I came across the story of a teenage girl with glasses who has organized an event where anyone who has used optical glasses in good condition can donate them to children from poor families in need of glasses.

WSB-TV2's newsroom supports it with a news report and Live links from the field.

In journalism, these are called "human interest stories" and while they don't produce as many clicks as murders, they serve to convey to the viewers the sense of community, of goodness and of what is beautiful and should be supported.

There are stories like this in Albania as well, but they rarely, almost never, take place in the news. "What news is this?" - many of the journalists of the time we live in would answer in unison.

I find that the editions are filled with names of criminals, direct links are from crime scenes.

There is talk of rape, death, murder, death, drugs, death, rape, blood, corruption, death, murder, death.

Why is good Albania ignored? Where are the examples of sacrifice, giving, kindness? Why does the news sow such terror that distorts reality?

SP. I am not saying that crimes should not be reported. But not to fill every edition, end to end with the macabre - I'm convinced that this too is driving people crazy, unnecessarily and irresponsibly stressing the mental health of viewers.

Without realizing it, they are being normalized, being imitated from event to event. But apart from them, in

Albania also has wonderful events, without blood, without axes, without burning cars after assassinations. But the sense, the desire, the will to reflect the good among us is covered by the unbearable lightness of the crime.

Not even just newscasts. Now even the floors in the "prime time" studios have to be washed from the traces of blood at the end of the program.
