A year ago, Leonard Theodhori, known as Koçolja, and his friend from Fieri, Fatmir Sulovari alias Krasniqi, disappeared under mysterious circumstances in Sarandë.
In this Wednesday's episode, "Inside Story" has brought an extended investigation on the mafia event, the investigation tracks and the suspected persons.
In the spring of 2023, one of the city's strongmen disappeared in Saranda together with a friend from Fieri, a member of one of the most authoritative families there. It is about Leonard Theodhori known by the nickname "Koçolja" and Fatmir Sulovari alias Fatmir Krasniqi. Both of these people lost track of their families on April 6, 2023. In this documentary, Inside Story will break down the efforts of families who have lost their loved ones.
"I went to the police station on the 3rd day, they didn't want to let me in. You said you'll let me in because I lost my son." Whoever takes him told me that he is clever, he is an artist, no one takes him...", said Evanthi Theodhori, Lonard Theodhori's mother
The family members' report to the police was not taken very seriously at first. In the first moments, the disappearance of two people was considered a voluntary departure. The search started only after a few days, when it became clear that we were in front of a mafia event. However, the investigations have not been able to shed light on their fate even though a year has passed.
"There, my daughter, when I went out crying, they didn't take her out directly to look for her, they took her out for three days, and three of them were lost, he went for 6 days. Where would I find it, then you tell me where I would find it?" said Evanthi Theodhori, mother of Lonard Theodhori
"One fact that worries me is the attitude of the Saranda police. I have these words for the police of Vlora, but the police of Saranda during these 8 days in a very big pause that you were denounced by your mother, on the second day it seems to me that a group of policemen went there without even getting out of the car, lowered the windows and took 4-5 photos and that's it. There was no trace of the car, the owner came and took it, it was rented, it was taken to the car wash, it was cleaned, it was washed", said Altin Gjin.
The family members continue the search even though they no longer have any hope of finding him alive. They only want their bodies to pay their last respects and have a grave.
Conflict over land?! What does Krasniqi's friend and Koçole's mother say
“Asnjë lekë nuk mori, do vemi ta shikosh atë tokën.
"There, my friend went through a great deal of boredom and despair and gave you some alcohol, the worry for him was great because the responsibility, the debts were on him. Sometimes he lost his vigilance, sometimes he got bored and sometimes he sought alliances with people. He was often interested in being told that there would be an expropriation of the investment you made. There was Kocolja and these people from the area who sometimes slept with them," said Altin Gjini, Fatmir Krasniqi's friend.
Theodhor's mother: This is the person who gave him drugs before he disappeared
Leonard Theodhori, then 18, was reportedly not directly involved in the incident. He was never convicted of the Sixth Neck massacre. But another incident would bring his name to the attention of the police. In 2003, he was present in the car driven by Andrea Gjini, before the latter killed businessman Jaho Bajo. And in 2003, he was arrested for "not alleging a crime" for another event committed by Andrea Gjini.
Koçolja was then arrested on charges of theft and fraud. Theodhori has also been accused of drug trafficking. At the same time, Leonard Theodhori was treated with medication due to his addiction to narcotics. Leonardi's mother says that he was hanging out all the time with a person who, according to her, also gave him the drugs he used.
"I told him he processes the drugs himself and gives them to my son, that's what I told him. Why did they completely disappear my son from the face of the earth? Niko Beduli, I'm telling you, everyone listens, you're not the only one with drugs, all the women in Saranda also drink. Let them come and kill me, so that I can pass and others threaten me and tell me where you will find the boy now..." said Evanthi Theodhori, Lonard Theodhori's mother
Even Fatmir Sulovari alias Krasniqi was known to the police. He was convicted of possession of a weapon without a permit and of causing minor injuries with intent. But his last confrontation with justice would be in April 2022. During a search of his vehicle in Lushnja, the police found quantities of cannabis sativa divided into doses, ready for sale.

The disappearance of two friends in Saranda, the relative: We opened the cameras privately and...
According to security camera footage, this is the car in which Fatmir Sulovari was last seen. The same machine that was also used in the placement of tritol in a builder's apartment in Saranda. This event happened on December 5, 2022. The amount of tritol was placed in the apartment of Lefter Lefter alias Afëz Kulla. This person was an employee in the administration earlier, while he was denounced for an illegal construction.
The police believe that Theodhori and Sulovari were initially taken in good faith in the car, since Sulovari, who is in the first place, looks calm in the footage that has been provided.
"The seriousness of a state now with the cameras, they told us that we have this camera, the municipality has it, we went to the municipality, the police have it, this camera works, in fact all the cameras were working because we opened them all privately and in many cameras they have been given material the police from what we have received. Now I'm asking which policeman you can confess to," said Altin Gjini, Fatmir Krasniqi's friend.
"We should not be surprised that for 30 or so years, the police at the local level underwent changes, frequent movements, dismissals, re-appointments, and a good part of the employees turned their heads to crime in order to survive," said Bajram Yzeiraj.
Solving a crime is considered committed if it reveals not only the author, but also the motive. Could the conflict be a motive for the sale of the land in Çuka, for which, as it turns out, Koçolja and his fellow co-owner did not even have proper documents...? What is missing from this track is the fact that the person who may have made a payment has not been identified.
Evidence is revealed, what scared Koçolja before the disappearance
This is the land over which there is thought to have been a conflict. Leonard Theodhori and Niku Beduli are said to have received an advance for this land. Meanwhile, Leonardi's mother does not believe Beduli's statement that he was attracted by the purchase of this land.
"He said that I had seen Leonard who had taken a piece of land, so I pulled back, I was scared. He sold drugs, how scared is he? Even to the children at school he sold you how scared he was?", said Evanthi Theodhori, Lonard Theodhori's mother.
"We met the boy who we were told spent the last night with him. We met him and he told us that the last night for them was a night of anxiety that the frightened Kocolja often looked from the street and Miri often asked him what he was looking at? A car passed by, don't look at them, a big anxiety... it was about a land bought by a person from the area there and this person took a figure of 20,000 euros and took a second figure of 8,000 euros for the leveling of the country and they were waiting to go to a notary to make the transfer of ownership from the name of Koçoles to the other wing, it is said that as it was found out later that land was without papers" said Altin Gjini, Fatmir Krasniqi's friend
The investigative team has carried out detailed verifications related to several murders committed in the past. The events are thought to have originated in Saranda, in the drug trafficking that came from this city.
