The Chief Commissioner of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, stated in a communication to the media that the age group that has participated the most in the by-elections so far is those over 65 years old.

"The age group of voters over 65 years old has the highest participation rate," he stated.

When asked whether voters who have not yet voted will be allowed to vote after 6:00 PM, he said that only those who have been identified by the commissioners as having failed to vote will be allowed to vote, but not other people.

"The commission will have to inform voters who are outside the polling centers, and will only allow them in, no one else after 6:00 PM will be able to vote. Regarding the low turnout of young voters, it is a trend even in other countries that do not have a big trend to vote," he said.

Regarding an allegation that at a polling center in Vlora, an SP commissioner had kept a record of the names of voters, he stated that they were unaware and that the commissioners were given clear instructions that no voter should be kept a record.

"We have made it clear that commissioners should not keep records of voters. This CEC instruction has been respected to the best of our knowledge and information. We will verify the case of Vlora," he declared.
