On the afternoon of July 1, after an intensive search operation spanning the entire Albanian territory, an Albanian citizen was arrested in Vlora, who in February 2000, while still a minor, at the height of an argument, stabbed a man to death. The events took place on the night of February 9, 2000 in Ravenna, Italy.
The arrested person was convicted by the Bologna Court of Appeal for the crimes of murder and illegal possession of weapons with a sentence that became final in July 2004; since then, he has always remained untraceable.
The police inform that the search activity, which allowed the capture of the dangerous fugitive, involved the Ravenna Police, which provided essential investigative elements useful for the identification of the fugitive, as well as the Vlora Police Directorate, which operated in close coordination with Interpol Tirana and the Albanian Police Operational Force, which arrested the man as part of the operation called "Objektivi".
