Members of the special police forces are suspected of helping the escape of the highly wanted Nuredin Duman towards Kosovo.

In February and March 2022, members of two special police units, the operational team and FAST, were in Kosovo, with the aim of arresting the much-wanted, Nuredin Dumani.

He had been wanted by the police for two years for the murder of Bujar Çela in Elbasan and the two brothers Besmir and Viktor Haxhia in Durrës. On the operative route, the police had tracked down Duman and at the beginning of 2022, they had discovered the base where he was hiding in Gjilan.

"Ora News" learns that FAST followed Duman's mother several times from Durrës towards Kosovo, the country where she went to buy used clothes and sell them in Durrës. Through this tracking, the police have created the conviction that the man they were looking for was hiding in Gjilan.

A group of the operational team and FAST in the State Police traveled to Gjilan, surrounding the palace where Dumani was hiding. But although the information was correct that Dumani was in the apartment, both the operational team and FAST could not catch him, returning empty-handed to Tirana.

The moment of encirclement and police failure came out 1 and a half months later, being revealed by Duman himself to SPAK prosecutors. For this failure, no analysis has yet been done by the state police, in order to find out the reasons why Nuredin Dumani broke the cordon surrounding the police agents quite calmly.

The siege in Gjilan failed and for this reason strong suspicions have been raised that someone within the police helped him escape first to Peja and then to Prizren.

He entered the territory of Albania in the middle of March, using the Morina border point in Kukës. Again, no one from the border police has exercised control over him. Dumani was arrested on the evening of March 29, 2022, in an apartment in Fier, where he had been injured in the assassination of Papi.
