The National Authority for Electronic Certification and Cyber Security reported at least 7 cyber incidents in the country notified by local operators, partner institutions or third parties during the past year.
These incidents are of different natures and in some cases the blocking was done while there were complications in the involved networks and in others the intervention was done before touching the infrastructures.
The authority reported that in fulfilling its functional tasks, the control sector during 2021 audited the operators of critical and important information infrastructures regarding the implementation of minimum security, technical and organizational measures by these operators, in accordance with the legal framework in force and international standards.
"Specifically, during 2021, the Control Sector has audited, with the (onsite) on-site method, the operators of critical and important infrastructures as follows: Critical infrastructures: AKSHI; Tirana Bank; Quick Credit; DPSHTR; OSHE; Durrës Port Authority; Alpha Bank" underlines ACESK.
Similarly, other operators for important infrastructures such as Eurosig Sh.a., Fondi Besa and Albsig sh.a. were also audited.
The authority claims that it has already started the identification of new, critical and important information infrastructures where the control sector has started the process of identifying potential operators in the health sector and in the energy sector.
In fulfillment of its functional tasks, the control sector during 2021 has also audited Qualified Trust Service Providers (CSOs), operating in the Republic of Albania in accordance with the relevant legal framework.
During 2021, the Control Sector has supervised the activity of OKSHB ALEAT in 82 offices of registration and distribution of qualified certificates in the Republic of Albania.
The data shows that Aleat has made it possible for a total of 2,679,869 e-IDs to be activated with this service by the end of December 2021. A total of 90,314 Certificates have been revoked by the end of December 2021, representing about 12% of the total number of activated IDs./Monitor/
