A year of investigations have completely dismantled the Albanian cocaine trafficking organization in Italy , mainly in the Foggia region.

At least 9 more arrests were recently made by Italian police, bringing the total number of detainees to 24 from 204 and to 35 of those investigated as part of a drug trafficking network.

The leaders of the group, who according to authorities are Albanians, focused on conducting business using the "delivery" method, posting doses of cocaine or marijuana to clients' homes, as ordered.

"The investigation, carried out from May 2024 to April 2025, revealed the existence of a thriving cocaine and cannabis trafficking operation in the municipality of Foggia. The drugs were purchased by an Albanian contact in Foggia through their Albanian fellow citizens residing in Northern Italy, were unloaded in a convoy in the capital of Foggia, stored in various garages and then delivered to the homes of the buyers," informs the media of the neighboring country.

Three of the arrested remained in detention by court decision, 6 others were placed under house arrest.

The illegal activity was carried out on a supply-demand basis and the profits amounted to millions of euros per year.

Orders placed via phone or text message, quick meetings at agreed-upon locations, and short trips to minimize exposure to controls. That was the scheme of the entire illegal business.

Coded language was another technique used, and the success was the quick message, Italian media reports.

The group avoided public places, police patrols, or busy areas, so as not to be noticed.
