Vetting against the chairman of the KLP/ Process in the second degree against
Alfred Balla

On Monday at ten o'clock, in the Special College of Appeal, the vetting in the second instance against the head of the KLP, Alfred Balla, complained by the Public Commissioner, the case against Alfred Balla is not related to the important task that he holds at the head of the government of prosecutor's office, a mandate that also ended here on December 19, as did another functionary, the head of the HCJ. Naureda Llagamit.

But, with the precedent opened by the first level of vetting that included him in the triple revaluation due to the position he held as a legal assistant in the high court before 2017.

The Independent Qualification Commission in June 2023 expressed without a final decision for Alfred Balla, i.e. with a decision that means neither dismissal nor confirmation in office because it turned out that he did not have the status of a magistrate.

The outcome of the Balla case involved a termination of the employment relationship and further a process in court which, according to the KPK, meant loss of status neither by vetting nor by his resignation, but by the termination of the employment relationship. However, the Public Commissioner opposed the first level of vetting with the request that the vetting should be expressed with a clear decision.

Thus, Balla heads the KLP, a position he holds as a representative of civil society, and together with two other members, Tartar Bazaj and Nurihan Seiti, have completed their mandate and should have been replaced. The same situation is in the KLGJ, Naureda Llagami, Fatmira Luli and Alban Toro, who should have been replaced four months ago/ TCH
