The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, made another reaction today from his detention cell in Durrës.

Without "sparing" the prosecutor in the case, Ols Dado, Veliaj reiterates that he was deprived of his liberty without trial and with an absurd indictment.

Precisely in response to the latter, he lists a series of arguments regarding the granting of construction permits in Tirana.

Citing parts of the file filed against him, Veliaj says that Dado called corruption the fact that businessman Shkëlqim Fusha took a job from the Tirana Municipality and in return gave 9 thousand euros to two lawyers, who knew his wife, Ajola Xoxa, for a project in the south of the country.

"The consultancy of a respected entrepreneur like Shkëlqim Fusha, with two lawyers who exercise the freedom of the profession without the permission of Nesti Dada, for a project in the south, results in the indictment against me as corruption in Tirana! So, with patience: Nesti Dada's victim because of me, who I have never given or received from him any favor of any kind, Shkëlqim Fusha, has paid two lawyers. 9 thousand euros! For his work in Vlora and Himara. But, since both of them are acquaintances of the lawyer I have at home, that is, Ajola, this is corruption, because Shkëlqim has taken work from the municipality and my wife's acquaintances have taken work from Shkëlqim ", emphasizes Veliaj.
