Erjon Veliaj, who has been in Durrës prison since February, will return this Monday to the Special Court of Appeal where he has requested his release from prison. Through his lawyers, the mayor of Tirana is asking the black squads for a more lenient measure, such as house arrest, where his closest associate, businessman Elman Abule, is also under the same measure.

On May 22, Spak announced that a new proceeding had been registered against Erjon Veliaj and Ajola Xoxa. This concerns the criminal offense of concealing assets, as they are suspected of having de facto ownership of two properties that they have not declared, one of which is additional, which is adjacent to the apartment located in Selita in the Kodra e Diellit residence that they own.

Erjon Veliaj was detained on February 9 when BKH agents went to his office to communicate the security measure of arrest in prison. Part of the investigation of the file is also his wife Ajola Xoxa, as well as 5 businessmen who are under the security measure of mandatory appearance.
