The death in Tirana on June 20 of Polish arms dealer Andrzje Izdebski continues to cloud Poland.
Referring to the Fakt newspaper , TCH reports that Piotr Krawczyk, head of the Polish Foreign Secret Service "Agencja Wywiadu", has resigned for this event.
"Although officially so far no reason has been given that this resignation of the head of this agency is related to the death of Andrzje Izdebski", says the Polish newspaper Fakt.
And while Izdebski was declared wanted by Polish prosecutors, he was found dead in Albania.
The Polish Secret Service has been held responsible for his departure while avoiding facing justice on charges of defrauding the government in not providing 1,241 respirators.
"Events took place very quickly and it was not possible to trace him, raising doubts as to whether the Polish Foreign Secret Service was up to the task," writes Fakt.
This article states that Piotr Krawczyk is believed to have resigned as a result of negligence in handling this matter.
Commenting on this event, Colonel Grzegorz Małecki, a former agent of the Polish Secret Service, stated for the Fakt newspaper that:
"The arms trade that Andrzje Izdebski did was often not based on the legislation in force. Then from an international arms dealer turned broker in the purchase of respirators. This caused him to receive a large amount of money now no longer available to him. The circumstances of his death show that he had no money. Maybe he knew where the money went, but now with death we won't be able to know where it is."
During the start of the pandemic, he in the role of broker, Andrzje Izdebski, promised the Polish government that he would provide 1,241 respirators worth 53 million dollars.
But by July 2020, he was able to provide only 200 respirators while receiving a $42 million advance from the Polish government.
The Polish government asked him to return 16 million euros, which he did, but not the rest, as according to him he had paid the respirator manufacturers.
