The police and the prosecutor's office are divided regarding the charge brought against Arjan Tase, the former head of the Community Policing Section in Elbasan, who caused the tragedy on Potami beach in Himare, where 7-year-old Jonada Avdia had a fatal accident with a speedboat.
The Police and the Police Surveillance Agency said in their announcement that Arjan Tase is accused of "manslaughter" and according to article 85 of the criminal code she is sentenced to up to 5 years in prison.
But according to sources from the Prosecutor's Office of Vlora, the prosecuting body will raise the charge of "intentional drowning", since Tase had a watercraft license and knew very well the danger that the navigation of these tools on the seashore represents for citizens.
This changes a lot on the "fate" of Arjan Tase.
The charge "Manslaughter" provided for in Article 85 of the Criminal Code is punishable by a fine or imprisonment of up to five years.
While the charge of "intentional murder" under Article 76 of the Criminal Code of Albania, Tase risks 10 to 20 years in prison.
After the tragedy, Commissioner Ajan Tase was arrested by the Police and dismissed from the ranks of the State Police.
