A large-scale fire broke out this afternoon in the ten-year-old pine forest in the village of Gjinoqarë, Patos municipality.
According to sources of information from village residents and the fire brigade, the wind is helping the flames, while the terrain is very rugged and makes it impossible for the fire brigade to intervene.
Alket Halimi, chief of the fire brigade in the Municipality of Patos, says that there are 4 fire vehicles of Patos and Mallakastra at the scene, and intervention is impossible. It is being fought with circumstantial means, as the firefighters also help residents of the areas or structures of the municipality.
At the moment, the flames are advancing favored by the wind. This forest was burned nearly 3 years ago, while at the moment there is no danger to the villages of the village, as the forest is located between the villages of Gjinoqarë and Drenie.
