A serious incident occurred today in Bulqiza, resulting in the death of one person.

It is learned that Fari Veliu, 60 years old, a shipbuilder, lost his life while working in the Bulqiza mine.

The incident occurred while he was working on building a reinforcement for other miners to work on, when a mass of ore collapsed, trapping him below.

Police announcement:

Bulqizë / preliminary information. On 06.08.2025, at around 11.40, it is suspected that citizen FV, around 66 years old, with the duty of assistant shipowner, was injured while working at a mining entity in Bulqizë and lost his life.

The investigative group under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office is working to clarify the causes of this event.
